she came into the world amidst the last sparkling shroud of yellow corn
when she stumbled upon a frowning little man
riding atop a panther who growled

oh what plague has cursed this place?
was it fiery red or scorching faces?
was it a wild beast from the deep carnival?
and where has my canopy gone?

youngest mother of all, come under my wing
where i will inform you of everything
but no, no child it was no tidal wave
but a minuscule cave within every smiling babe

i was alone on a crowded street
when black lagoons seeped out of their feet
come out of a strange green triangle
until there was not a neck left to strangle

she said, wont you please explain this to me?
but he was off into the last tree
and where are the smiling grassy moors?
